Excess stock buyers for Perth, Adelaide, WA and SA
Coorey and Co buys excess, surplus and liquidation stock from Perth, Adelaide and across Western Australia and South Australia. We're based in Sydney and work by phone and email. Distance is rarely a deal-breaker: collection is agreed per parcel, and depending on the buyer, your stock may not need to travel east at all.
- 30+ years buying excess stock
- Confidential & discreet
- We can buy the whole parcel
If your stock is in Perth or Adelaide, the first question is usually whether a Sydney buyer will bother. We will. Coorey and Co has been buying and selling excess stock for over 30 years, from anywhere in Australia, from New Zealand and internationally. In most cases we buy the whole parcel ourselves and resell it through our own network.
We'll be straight with you: we don't have offices in WA or SA. John Coorey works from Parramatta, Sydney, and does deals by phone and email. That's how most of our deals are done, wherever the stock is.
Will freight make my stock not worth selling?
Usually not, but it's a fair question, and we'll answer it honestly for your parcel. Freight is a real cost, and we talk it through before anything is agreed. What helps:
- Your stock may not need to come to Sydney. Collection is agreed per parcel, and depending on who buys it, stock may go straight from your warehouse to the buyer, interstate or to a port.
- You can choose who handles it. We're happy to arrange collection, or you can deliver.
- Full pallets and containers travel more cheaply per unit than loose cartons. If your stock is already palletised, say so.
- Distance matters less than the stock itself. Brand, dates, condition and quantity usually move the price more than freight does.
Our guide on how much your stock is worth sets out every factor that goes into an offer.
What kinds of WA and SA businesses sell us stock?
The stock we're offered from the west and south comes from the same kinds of businesses as everywhere else:
- Importers and distributors with stock left over after a cancelled order or a range change.
- Food, wine-region and beverage producers with overruns, packaging changes or short-dated stock.
- Retailers and franchisees clearing discontinued lines or closing stores.
- Businesses in remote or regional areas that have found it hard to reach a large enough market for their leftover stock.
- Administrators and liquidators handling a business's stock. We work closely with insolvency practitioners. See our page for administrators and liquidators.
Being further from the eastern states can make clearing stock locally harder. There are fewer large discount and clearance buyers close by, and your local customers may be the very people you don't want seeing the discount. A national buyer with overseas contacts gives you more places for the stock to go.
How does it work from Perth or Adelaide?
- Email your stock list to john@coorey.com: SKU, description, quantity, cost or RRP if you're happy to share, best-before dates, and the exact location of the stock.
- Send photos of the product, outer cartons and labels, plus how it's packed (pallets, cartons, loose).
- Talk to John by phone about why the stock is surplus, any restrictions on where it can be sold, and your timing.
- John discreetly surveys the market to find out what it's worth.
- In most cases, he makes an offer for the lot, with freight discussed openly. If buying it all isn't possible, he'll give you his best advice on how to sell it.
- Collection or delivery is agreed per parcel.
- Payment is made promptly, as per our agreed terms.
How do you protect my brand in a smaller market?
In a smaller market, a cheap parcel in the wrong store gets noticed quickly. We follow your rules. Our four guarantees:
- "We strictly follow your guidelines in relation to pricing and distribution locations."
- "We send payment promptly, as per our agreed terms."
- "We place a priority focus on clearing your stock."
- "We speedily and discreetly convert your stock into cash at the highest possible price, without damaging your market position."
If you want the stock kept out of WA, out of SA, or out of particular retailers, say so at the start. We sell to major retailers, discount chains, overseas buyers, charities, wholesalers and distributors, and we can match the stock to a buyer outside your market.
Distance doesn't stop a good deal
We once bought 19 containers of washing powder in New Zealand and sold them to Singapore without meeting the buyer or the seller. Other jobs include 37 semi-trailers of short-dated orange juice and 27 semi-trailers of a discontinued paint product.
There's no minimum size. John likes small parcels too, because a small parcel sometimes leads to a big one. If something is wrong with the stock, such as a labelling error, damaged packaging or a short date, tell us. We're open with buyers about it, and we can often still find a home for it.
What if the stock has been sitting a while?
Send the list anyway, and tell us how long it has been there. Stock that has sat in a Perth or Adelaide warehouse for a year or two is common, often because it was too awkward or too costly to move. Storage keeps costing money while it sits, and dated stock keeps losing value. If the first offer is fair, take it. In our experience, later offers are almost always lower.

Frequently asked questions
Isn't Perth too far for a Sydney buyer?
Not usually. We buy from anywhere in Australia, and how the stock moves is agreed per parcel. Freight is discussed openly before any offer is agreed, so you know where you stand.
Do you have an office in Perth or Adelaide?
No. Our only office is in Parramatta, Sydney. We work with WA and SA businesses by phone and email, which for most parcels is all that's needed.
Could my stock be sold overseas instead?
It may be. Overseas buyers are one of the groups we sell to, and we only sell where your guidelines allow. If you'd rather the stock stayed out of certain countries or channels, tell us.
Do you buy stock from regional WA and SA?
Yes. Send the list and tell us exactly where the stock is. Remote locations can affect freight, so it helps to know early.
What if I can deliver the stock myself?
That's fine. Some sellers prefer to deliver, others want us to arrange collection. We agree it per parcel.
