Koala Shower Shine: shower cleaning product

Koala Shower Shine is a spray-on shower cleaning product and a registered brand of Coorey and Co. It shows the other side of our business: we don't only clear stock, we've also had our own cleaning product on discount retail shelves.

Koala is a registered brand of Coorey and Co, and Koala Shower Shine is our shower cleaning product. It has been stocked by a national discount retailer. It isn't a clearance parcel, but it's a good example of how well we know the cleaning category, from formulation and packaging to the discount retail shelf.

What is Koala Shower Shine?

A spray-on shower cleaner that prevents the build-up of mould, soap scum and calcium deposits. You spray it onto wet screens and tiles, and the next shower rinses it off. There's no need to wipe.

  • No harsh fumes.
  • No chlorine or bleach.
  • No acids.
  • Especially effective on the hard-to-clean haze on shower screens.

It's also good for baths, benches, taps and basins, and works safely on tile, fibreglass, chrome, plastic shower curtains, glass shower doors, aluminium, rubber and porcelain.

Why does a stock buyer have its own cleaning brand?

Because the skills overlap. Knowing what a discount retailer wants on its shelves, how a product needs to be packed, and what price point works is the same knowledge we use when we buy someone else's excess stock. We've done this kind of thing before: we once bought a discontinued line of glass bottles, had them filled with soft drink by a beverage company with spare capacity, and sold the finished product to a discount retailer.

Why do cleaning products end up as excess stock?

Retailers change ranges, labels change, and suppliers overproduce for promotions. Cleaning products are durable, so the stock is usually still good. The issue is finding a buyer with shelf space.

Who buys excess cleaning products?

Discount chains, wholesalers, overseas buyers and charities. Each buys for different reasons, and we structure offers to suit them. See the general merchandise we buy.

What should you do with excess cleaning stock?

Send us:

  1. A stock list spreadsheet: SKU, description, quantity, any dates, and cost or RRP if you're happy to share.
  2. Photos of the product and labels.
  3. Where the stock is.

John discreetly surveys the market. In most cases he makes an offer for all of it. If he can't, he gives his best advice on how to sell it.
